Distinguished Participants and Friends of the German shepherd dog and Dog Sport;

I would first like to thank Club Schutzhund Rive-Sud and their President Sigi Klein for inviting me.I wish all the participants the best and much success.

I have been married 35 years and have two daughters. We live near Steyr in Austria. I was the event organizer at the 2002 WUSV World Championship in Steyr and it would be a pleasure for me to see some of you in Steyr at the 25 WUSV World Championship in 2012.

My hobby, the German shepherd dog, is what made me join the National police as a dog handler in 1980 where I was later promoted to Instructor.I have been breeding GSDs since 1980 and a few of my dogs were used as police dogs.

For the past 30 years I have been a member of the Austrian SV (SVO) as a working and show judge.In 2000, the SV named made me a working and show judge as well as a Körmeister and my positions with the SV are what allow me to judge at both the national and international level. As always, I will use my extensive experience as a judge to provide fair and accurate evaluations and decisions. I hope the event will be a great success.

Avant tout, j’aimerais remercier le Club Schutzhund Rive-Sud et son président, Monsieur Sigi Klein, de leur invitation. Je souhaite la meilleure des chances à tous les participants, et beaucoup de succès.

Je suis marié depuis 35 ans, et j’ai deux filles. Mon épouse et moi habitons près de Steyr en Autriche. J’étais l’organisateur du Championnat du monde du WUSV en 2002 à Steyr, en Autriche, et ça me ferait énormément plaisir de voir quelques-uns d’entre vous à Steyr, en 2012, au 25^e Championnat du Monde.

Le centre de mes loisirs, le Berger Allemand, est la principale raison pour laquelle je me suis joint à la police nationale comme manieur en 1980, où j’ai été promu instructeur.

Depuis 1980 que j’élève des Bergers Allemands, et quelques-uns de mes chiens ont été utilisés comme chiens policiers. Depuis 30 ans, je suis membre du SV autrichien à titre de juge de conformation et de travail. En 2000, le SV m’a nommé juge de conformation, juge de travail et Körmeister, et ce sont mes fonctions au SV qui me permettent de juger au niveau national et international. Comme toujours, je vais utiliser toute mon expérience à titre de juge pour rendre des décisions justes et précises. J’espère que l’événement sera un grand succès.

In 1972 we registered our kennel “von Norbreeze” and have produced many titled dogs including Canadian WUSV team member Bure von Norbreeze, trained and handled by Darryl Haringsma and Canadian National Champion and Canadian WUSV team member Dolf von Norbreeze, trained and handled by Mike Bauer.

Also in 1972, I joined the SV and was one of the founding members of the Lower Mainland GSDC, of which I am an Honorary Life Member. In 1974 I entered my first Schutzhund trial and since that time titled 13 dogs, competing at club, regional, national and international trials, winning the Canadian Nationals twice and competed at the WUSV Championship.

In 1979, I along with a small group of Schutzhund enthusiasts formed the GSSCC, and I was the founding President, a position I held for many years and am an Honorary Life Member.

In 1980, I received my SV Judge's License, being the first full SV Judge in North America and have judged numerous club trials, also in Germany, the Canadian Nationals, USA Nationals, WDA Nationals, North American Championships, Rottweiler World Championship, USA Malinois Championship and the WUSV Championship.

En 1972, nous avons enregistré notre chenil « von Norbreeze », et nous avons produit plusieurs chiens qui ont gagné des titres, incluant Bure von Norbreeze, membre de l’équipe de la WUSV au Canada, entraîné et manié par M. Darryl Haringsma, et le champion canadien et membre de l’équipe de la WUSV au Canada, Dolf von Norbreeze, entraîné et manié par M. Mike Bauer.

Aussi en 1972, je me suis joint au SV, et j’ai été un des membres fondateurs du club Lower Mainland GSDC, dont je suis membre honoraire. En 1974, j’ai participé à ma première compétition de Schutzhund et, depuis, j’ai titré 13 chiens dans des compétitions de tous les niveaux : club, régional, national et international. En 1979, quelques passionnés de Schutzhund et moi-même avons constitué le Club de Schutzhund Berger Allemand du Canada. J’ai été le président fondateur, un titre que j’ai conservé pendant plusieurs années, et je suis maintenant membre honoraire.

En 1980, j’ai obtenu ma licence de juge de la SV. J’ai été le premier juge SV en Amérique du nord, et j’ai jugé plusieurs compétitions de club aussi en Allemagne, au championnat national canadien, au championnat national américain, au championnat national de la WDA, au championnat de l’Amérique du Nord, au championnat du monde Rottweiler, au championnat américain du Malinois et au championnat de la WUSV.
